TPD Makes Interstate Drug Trafficking Arrest
October 29, 2020
On Oct. 27, the Tallahassee Police Department arrested one person for trafficking 30 pounds of cannabis.
TPD’s Drug Interdiction Unit was notified that the arrestee would be traveling from California to Tallahassee using commercial air travel to bring cannabis into the Big Bend region.
The arrestee, who had been the subject of a previous drug trafficking investigation by another out-of-state law enforcement agency, arrived at the Tallahassee International Airport on a flight and had two checked bags. With assistance from Leon County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Deputy Skelton, an open-air sniff determined the presence of illegal drugs.
A search warrant led to the discovery of cannabis in the arrestee’s bag, and he was taken to the Leon County Jail without incident.
The Drug Interdiction Unit was assisted by Homeland Security, TPD Airport Officers and LCSO. TPD is committed to enhancing public safety and addressing the illegal sale of narcotics. If you see something, report it by calling TPD at 850-891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
Arrested:
Brailon Miles, 24, for trafficking in cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
