StarMetro Seeks Citizen Input
Proposed route changes will help meet customer demand
May 07, 2019
StarMetro, the City of Tallahassee’s mass transit system, is seeking input from citizens and public transit commuters on proposed changes to its system. These changes are designed to improve the overall system’s effectiveness and on-time performance.
During this 30-day listening session, StarMetro will host community meetings and pop-up events to gather feedback on proposed frequency, route, bus stop and schedule changes. The public meetings are designed to provide one-on-one consultation with StarMetro staff and to help commuters identify alternative routes that best meet their needs. Information gathered will help further refine the proposed changes.
The meetings will be offered at the following times:
- Tuesday, May 7, at C.K. Steele Plaza, 111 W. Tennessee St., 3-6 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 15, at City Hall, 300 S. Adams St., 3-6 p.m.
- Monday, May 20, at Providence Community Service Center, 1908 Highland St., 6:30-8 p.m.
- Thursday, May 23, at C.K. Steele Plaza, 111 W. Tennessee St., 4-7 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 29, at LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library, 200 W. Park Ave., Room B, 4-7 p.m. (Free parking tokens will be provided for those who attend the library meeting.)
The public is encouraged to attend one of these sessions to better understand the proposed changes and provide comments. Those unable to attend are encouraged to review proposed route change maps and provide feedback at Talgov.com/routechanges
The final changes after receiving feedback are expected to go into effect on Saturday, August 3.
