Two Dogs Rescued from House Fire
November 20, 2025
This afternoon, Nov. 20, at approximately 2:38 p.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) responded to a reported structure fire on Watersview Drive after a neighbor noticed smoke coming from a single-story residence.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke showing from the home. Crews made immediate entry, locating a fire in the kitchen area that had begun to extend into the attic. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, limiting fire damage primarily to the kitchen and a portion of the attic space.
A primary search of the residence confirmed that no occupants were inside. During operations, firefighters located two dogs and safely removed them from the home. Both animals were provided oxygen using pet oxygen masks.
TFD continued overhaul operations to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished and to prevent any additional fire spread.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS, City of Tallahassee Animal Control and City of Tallahassee Utilities assisted on scene.
