Arrest made for Governor’s Square Boulevard Shooting (Update)

TPD has arrested Goidia L. Porter in connection with the shooting at Regal Cinemas, 1501 Governor’s Square Boulevard. The investigation revealed that Porter and the victim were in a verbal altercation, while standing outside the theater. During the argument, Porter shot the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.
Porter was taken into custody by TPD’s Career Criminal Unit and transported to TPD for questioning. After precuring a search warrant for Porter’s residence, Violent Crimes Investigators were able to recover the firearm used in the shooting. Porter was later booked into the Juvenile Assessment Center for the below charges. TPD would like to thank everyone who assisted with this investigation.

TPD Investigates Shooting on Governor’s Square Boulevard
On September 7, 2019 at approximately 11:36 p.m., the TPD responded to a shooting near the 1500 block of Governor’s Square Boulevard. Arriving officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. That victim would later succumb to their injuries.
