TPD Investigates Shooting Near Wallis Street (Updated March 17, 2019)

Updates as of March 17, 2019:
On March 1, 2019 TPD responded to the area of Wallis & Calhoun Street to find a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. TPD's Violent Crimes Unit later identified Tamarick Barnes as the suspected shooter
On March 17, 2019, district officers were investigating a hit and run traffic crash in the area of Eisenhower Street and Villamore Avenue. Two subjects had abandoned the suspect vehicle and fled on foot. A perimeter was established, and Barnes would ultimately be detained in the area of Villamore Avenue and Dale Street. Barnes was questioned and charged with Robbery with a Firearm, and Attempted Homicide. He was then transported to the Leon County Detention Facility.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a shooting near Wallis & Calhoun Street. At approximately 4:26 a.m., officers were notified of the shooting incident and responded to the area. Arriving officers and emergency personnel discovered that one victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That victim was later transported to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries.
