City Service Changes for Election Day and Veterans Day Holiday

The City of Tallahassee will observe Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11. Following are schedule changes for the week of Nov. 6-12 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits (blue week), StarMetro, the Animal Service Center and City-run community centers.
Garbage and Recycling Collection
During the holiday week, some residential customers will receive service one day later than their regularly scheduled service. This includes garbage / recycling and yard waste / bulky pickup, which will impact blue week customers:
- Monday customers ► No change
- Tuesday customers ► No change
- Wednesday customers ► No change
- Thursday customers ► No change
- Friday customers ► Saturday, Nov. 12
Customers are encouraged to set their collection bins behind the curb the night before their service day. Both containers should be returned to the home no later than the day after collection. StarMetro Routes
StarMetro, the City's mass transit system, will operate a regular schedule with night service on Tuesday, Nov. 8. On Friday, Nov. 11, fixed routes will operate on a Saturday schedule, Dial-A-Ride will operate as normal, and the StarMetro call center will be staffed from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The City of Tallahassee will offer fare free rides on StarMetro's regular, fixed route service and Dial-A-Ride service on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. In recognition of their service, veterans can ride StarMetro's fixed routes and Dial-A-Ride fare free on Nov. 11 with identification.

Animal Services
The Animal Service Center will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and Friday, Nov. 11. Normal hours will be observed the remainder of the week. Customers needing more information, including photos of animals available for adoption and to report lost and found pets, may visit Talgov.com/Animals or contact the Animal Service Center at 850-891-2950.
City Animal Control will be available for emergency situations only on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and Friday, Nov. 11, and can be reached via the Consolidated Dispatch Agency at 850-606-5800.
City-Run Community Centers
Community centers operated by the City of Tallahassee Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 8, and Friday, Nov. 11. Centers will operate on normal hours the remainder of the week.
