City Service Changes for Independence Day Holiday
June 30, 2021
As July 4 falls on a Sunday this year, the City of Tallahassee will close administrative offices in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 5. Following are details about the City's Celebrate America event and schedule changes for the week of July 4-10 for solid waste customers living inside the Tallahassee city limits, StarMetro, the Animal Service Center and City-run community centers.
Celebrate America at Tom Brown Park
The City's Celebrate America event will take place at Tom Brown Park on Sunday, July 4, from 7-10 p.m. You and your family can enjoy live music from the Billy Rigsby Band and Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, leading up to a spectacular, patriotic fireworks display. TSO will play the National Anthem at 9:45 p.m. and then accompany the fireworks, finishing with the 1812 Overture during the grand finale.
There will be food trucks and activities for children at the event. Attendees are also welcome to pack a picnic.
Parking will be available within the park, but shuttle bus service will not be offered this year. All vehicular access to Tom Brown Park will be closed at 8:30 p.m. or earlier based on parking availability.
For more information, please contact the City's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department at 850-891-3866 or visit the Celebrate America page.
