City Commission to Hold Budget Workshop
May 13, 2021
The Tallahassee City Commission will hold a budget workshop on Wednesday, May 19, at 9 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers, second floor, City Hall, 300 South Adams Street. The agenda is available at Talgov.com/Agenda.
Due to ongoing public health concerns, there will be three options for sharing public comment.
Citizens are encouraged to use the virtual and online options to help protect community health. More details about each option are available at Talgov.com/CitizenInput. Anyone needing assistance with submitting comments should contact the City Treasurer-Clerk's Office via email at cctrecmg@talgov.com or by calling 850-891-8130.
The workshop will focus on the Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) Second Quarter Update. The quarterly budget update serves to increase transparency and community involvement in the budget process, while providing dedicated time for the City Commission to discuss the status of the prior quarter, issues affecting the remainder of the fiscal year and assumptions impacting the preparation of the next fiscal year budget.
Information about the City's financials is available through OpenGov and the City's online budget, both accessible through Talgov.com.
The City continues to be committed to frequent, open and transparent communication with the community regarding the status of the current budget and development of the FY22 budget, offering ample opportunities for public input. The schedule of upcoming budget meetings is as follows:
- July 7: FY21 Third Quarter Budget Update, FY22 Tentative Millage Plan, FY22 Budget Plan (Proposed Budget) Workshop
- September 8: FY22 First Public Hearing and Approval
- September 22: FY22 Final Budget Public Hearing and Approval
The schedule above is subject to change and will be updated as necessary. Check the City's online events calendar at Talgov.com to stay informed.
The workshop will stream live on the City's government-access television channel, WCOT (Comcast and CenturyLink channel 13), as well as online at Talgov.com, Facebook.com/CityofTLH and Twitter.com/CityofTLH.
