Balkin Road and Center Drive Water Main Replacement

The City of Tallahassee has begun a water main replacement project along Balkin Road and Center Drive. The project includes construction of a new 8-inch water main, water services and meters to replace the existing system currently serving the area, as well as replacement of existing fire hydrants and the addition of a few new ones to increase fire protection coverage. The new water facilities will result in reduced utility maintenance activities, improved system capacity and reliability, and increased fire protection.

This project is scheduled to begin in October 2021 and is expected to be completed in spring 2022, barring any unanticipated delays. Construction hours will generally be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
